Pre-Lude

He remembered Every Christmas. He remembered his earlier years when his mother was alive and healthy. Those were his good Christmases. Then there were the Christmases post accident. The Christmases when his mother was sick both mentally and physically. He remembered the disappointments. The loneliness. His father’s subtle cruelty. Those were the worst. They were the worst because he always hoped. He always hoped that the next Christmas would be better than the last. It never was. So now he was bitter and annoyed and angry. Lex Luthor hated Christmas.

Chloe knew Lex hated Christmas. She just didn’t know why. Maybe it’s because his childhood sucked. Maybe it was a Luthor thing and it was a rule that holiday cheer was not in their vocabulary. All whys aside, Lex was generally not a happy person, but he wasn’t mean, and she knew that deep down inside there had to be someone who had at least a little bit of holiday cheer. Chloe loved Christmas and this Christmas was going to be a good one. She didn’t care how much Lex hated Christmas. It was her destiny to make him enjoy it. This month, Chloe Sullivan was going to save Christmas!

This year’s Advent Calendar fanfiction is written by kimbo, who’s been a member a while and has written fanfictions before. The most known fanfiction of hers might be Startling Revelation (NC-17) with over 600 replies!

There will be, as there has been these past couple of years where we’ve had this feature, a fanfiction, some graphics and contests where you can win paid subscriptions at the forum.

This Year’s Advent Calendar Story

The fanfiction will come in 24 parts, starting on December 1st, and ending on December 24th. Each day will have a new chapter, just like on a Advent Calendar – you open a “window” and you get a small gift. There will also be contests, four in total, one for each Sunday until Advent Sunday. On the ‘regular’ Sundays, the contest winner will receive a FREE year of the silver paid subscription. On Advent Sunday, the contest winner will receive a FREE year of the gold paid subscription!

Graphics

Like the previous years, there will also be graphics in the form of avatars and wallpapers. The avatars are forum ready, and will be available in batches for choosing in December as they are posted.

25. You can’t go home again.

It was odd being back at the castle. It was always difficult to accurately judge the passage of time in a home that was centuries old.

Not that it had been that long since they’d been there. In fact, Lex was surprised to realize that it had only been a little more than three years ago since he and Chloe had left Smallville; her for Met U and him to be closer both to her and the base of operations for LuthorCorp. And while they’d been back for visits, they’d been brief and generally hadn’t encompassed too many detours down memory lane.

Lana still lived in town. Clark had too, going to the local college for two years before deciding to see a bit of the world. Surprisingly, Pete Ross had moved back and had proven quite the comfort for Lana in her hour of need. But, honestly, Gabe Sullivan was the only thing that had pulled Chloe or Lex willingly back to Smallville with any regularity.
